NON-PARTISAN POLITICAL ACTION

The Voice of the Immigrant (LVI) has been engaged in a collective process of analyzing government policies, draft legislation, and their impact on the rights of foreign-educated workers since its inception. The Voice of the Immigrant comments on draft legislation and critiques it in order to obtain the changes necessary for the full recognition of these rights.
Because this is primarily a collective process, La Voix de l'Immigrant (LVI) expresses its views through the Table de concertation des organismes au service des personnes réfugiées et immigrantes (TCRI), of which it is a member. It was in this context that, in 2016, La Voix de l'Immigrant actively participated in the analysis of Bill 98, "An Act to amend various laws mainly concerning admission to professions and the governance of the professional system," and presented its arguments on this matter. La Voix de l'Immigrant's (LVI) arguments were taken into account in the final brief submitted and presented by the TCRI to the National Assembly of Quebec.

The Voice of the Immigrant (LVI) intends to continue its non-partisan political actions in close collaboration with the national platform specializing in collective rights defence, the grouping of organizations in collective rights defence ( RODCD ), which represents it to the Secretariat for Autonomous Community Action and Social Initiatives ( SACAIS ).
The Voice of the Immigrant (LVI) will soon be uploading:
-
Research and analysis contributing to a better understanding among the public of the general situation of foreign-trained workers in Quebec;
-
Analyses of budget statements or consultation documents, policies and guidelines;
-
Opinions, memoranda or other documents of the kind, relating to problematic situations of professional integration of workers who graduated abroad; etc.
