Hamid

Hamid Benrabha
PRESIDENT

Hamid Benrabha is a CPA, CGA member of the Quebec CPA Order.

Hamid has over 15 years of experience in accounting.

After working for 8 years as an accountant in the Department of Justice of Morocco, he chose to immigrate to Canada. After settling in Gatineau 11 years ago, he studied at UQO and worked for various organizations in the National Capital Region (HR Block, Lévesque Marchand SENCRL, Canada Revenue Agency, ABCE Language School Inc). This varied accumulation of experience has enabled Hamid to sharpen his skills in accounting, auditing, taxation and finance, among others.

Recently, Hamid has become more interested in issues of good governance, organizational leadership and risk management.

Hamid has been working as a Finance Director for a First Nation in the Outaouais region since June 2018.

Laurence

Laurence Dadié

VICE PRESIDENT

Laurence Dadié has been a chartered professional accountant (CPA) with the order of the CPA of Quebec, for more than four years.

Laurence has successively held the positions of Controller, Assistant Director, and Internal Auditor in various companies and non-profit organizations in Quebec. Recently, she was an external auditor in one of the Big Four (audit) in Gatineau.

She has lived in Canada for more than 13 years, and in addition to her own professional integration experience, she understands the required measures it takes to integrate into the Canadian medical environment. Laurence followed the path of her husband, a doctor from a West African country, who has since become a licensed member of the Medical Council of Canada.

Laurence is currently doing her master’s degree in Canadian taxation.

Lomami

Shomba Lomami

Shomba Lomami holds a master’s degree in Law from the Catholic University of Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium). He is a member of the Ordre professionnel des criminologues du Québec, the Société de criminologie du Québec, as well as the Canadian Criminal Justice Association and the International Juvenile Justice Observatory.

He is a Human Relations Officer within the Mental Health and Addictions Division at the Centre intégré de santé et des services sociaux de l’Outaouais.  As a lecturer of law at the Collège Universel (Gatineau Campus), Shomba Lomami  is very passionate about individual and collective advocacy.

He is currently a member on the Board of Directors for The Immigrant Voice (a collective rights advocacy organization) and for  La Manne de l’île (Community Food Bank).

Youyou

Youyou Nsembe

ADMINISTRATOR

Youyou holds a master’s degree in Social Sciences with a specialization in International Relations.

Youyou has experience in project management, in managing the integration of newcomers, as well as in social intervention and animation.

Youyou has solid expertise in the community services in the Outaouais region (Gatineau & Ottawa).She worked for GEFO (Groupe entre Femme de Outaouais), Hull Integrated Housing, ROHSCO (Regroupement des OSBL d’habitation et d’hébergementavec support communautaire en Outaouais), and SITO (Service Intégration Travail Outaouais).

Youyou is currently working for the CESOC (Conseil Économique et Socialed’Ottawa Carleton) as the Establishment Project Officer. Consequently, she has developed diversified expertise in the areas of welcoming, establishing (settlement) and integration of newcomers who have graduated abroad and are struggling to get a well-paid job in Canada (Quebec).

Youyou is a collective rights defender activist.

Jeef

Jeef Beia Kabemba

PROJECT AGENT

Jeef Beia Kabemba détient Baccalauréat en sciences commerciales et financières doublé d’un diplôme en Gestion des entreprises de l’Alliance Belgo-Congolaise.

Jeef a assumé le rôle d’Agent de projets à La Voix de l’Immigrant de 2019 à 2020 et a développé une expertise dans la conception des projets en défense collective des droits et le démarchage des bailleurs de fonds.

Dans le souci de s’impliquer davantage, dans la communauté, Jeef œuvre comme bénévole pour l’Association des Résidents du Plateau (ARP) depuis 2019 et participe activement aux côtés du député Greg Fergus au Conseil des aînés Hull-Aylmer depuis l’éclosion de la maladie à corona virus (COVID-19).

Jeef travaille actuellement dans le domaine de la logistique à Ottawa et œuvre activement au sein du conseil d’administration de La Voix de l’Immigrant (LVI).

Nathalia

Nathalia Guevara Jaramillo

SECRETARY TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Nathalia Guevara Jaramillo has studied Anthropology, History (National University of Colombia) and Latin-American Studies (National Autonomous University of Mexico). She has since been a university researcher, lecturer and humanitarian worker with refugees in Mexico. She has worked in several social science projects addressing subjects such as racism, history of African-American populations in Latin America, nationalism, public health, among others.

Nathalia has lived in Canada since 2019. Currently, she works in the non-profit sector in Montreal, where she is responsible for accompanying and facilitating activities for women (mainly immigrants) who need to integrate into Quebec society through employment.

Khusravdod

Khusravdod Sattarov
ADMINISTRATOR

Khusravdod spent five years working for a community housing association implementing and delivering affordable and community housing programs for vulnerable people, and eight years working for various UN agencies and international humanitarian development organizations promoting human rights and social justice.

 DIRECTION 

Didier

Didier Muamba Kabeya

DIRECTOR

Didier has law background. He has been criminal lawyer for more than five  years.

He has worked with civil society organizations [CSOs] in the field of democratic governance and peace building for more than four years around the world (Africa, Europe, Caribbean, etc.).

More recently, Didier has developed exceptional know-how in the area of volunteering infrastructure, voluntary action and related advice.

Didier has since converted to the collective defense of the rights (promotion of rights) of qualified workers who graduated abroad and encounter issues to integrate professional orders in Quebec. Didier acts as volunteering Director for The Immigrant Voice (TIV) since 2013.

Osvaldo

Osvaldo Anaya Socarras
VOLUNTEER

Osvaldo Anaya Socarras is a Public Administrator with a master’s degree in Public Administration, obtained in 2017 at the ENAP. Osvaldo has more than 10 years of professional experience in the field of administration, specifically in the execution of organizational development projects such as analysis and evaluation of process, services and administrative procedures, as well as implementation of internal control systems.

Early in his carrier, Osvaldo worked for three years in the municipality of Villarrica in Colombia (his home country), where he  was responsible for the Planning and Infrastructure Office. Additionally, he practiced his profession as an external consultant for seven years in many public organizations in Colombia.

Osvaldo arrived to Canada in 2012, and studied French language at Laval University (Quebec), English language at Humber College (Toronto) and Heritage College (Gatineau).  Osvaldo also interned as Compatibility Clerk at Exportech Quebec.

Olivia

Olivia Hnatyshyn

COMMUNICATIONS

Olivia Hnatyshyn is finishing her fourth year of Journalism at Carleton University. She has experience writing for online publications, as well as a passion for social justice.

Olivia has previous experience working for a non-profit organization, as a program coordinator at the Emily Murphy Non-Profit Housing Corporation (2018). Additionally, she has been taking on administrative work at a senior’s home during COVID-19 (2019-2020).

Throughout her studies, Olivia has dedicated many of her articles to immigrant issues in Canada. Through her work she has featured the stories of immigrants and refugees facing common challenges, both mentally and systemically, upon arrival. She hopes that her work will help shine a light on these injustices, and will contribute to the betterment of society.

Chloé

Ann-Chloé Nsangou Assoua
VOLUNTEER

Ann-Chloé Nsangou Assoua is approaching her final semester at Cégep de L’Outaouais in Humanities, with a focus on individuals and society.  Originally from Cameroon, Chloé became a permanent resident of Canada since 2018.

In  addition to the various activities in which she participated in her home country (organizing school trips, helping out in the family shop), she volunteered at the archives at the Archdiocese of Gatineau in the summer of 2019, and spent some time as the receptionist.

Helping people in need, discovering the differences of the world, and learning  more about society are the ideals  that guide Chloé’s ambitions. For these reasons, she wants to continue studying social science in college, more precisely in psychology, in order to raise awareness and help people understand the importance of  mental health, no matter what cultural differences the world can offer us.

Maysaa

Maysaa al-Khatib

VOLUNTEER

Maysaa al-Khatib has a bachelor’s degree in English Literature from the Lebanese University. She also has five years of experience teaching English as a second language (primary and preschool) in Lebanon.

Maysaa has been awarded in TKT module (teaching knowledge test) from the British council held in Lebanon.

Maysaa has been in Canada for 12 years. She is taking a French evening course to improve her French,  as well as volunteering for The Immigrant Voice, a non-profit organization, to prepare herself for an administrative position in the near future.
