SOCIAL ADVOCACY

The Immigrant Voice (TIV) uses social mobilization to bring together its members to create a collective campaign to fight, or in this case advocate, for the rights of immigrants educated abroad. We work towards facilitating access to professional orders of Quebec for workers with foreign credentials who are victims of systemic discrimination.

In the present context of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the mobilization continues by virtual means, mainly amongst our members, and sometimes with the community of newcomers in Quebec.

Over the years, TIV's mobilization work has taken different forms, resulting in various actions aimed at calling on the public, the Quebec government, as well as regulatory bodies to take action by:

  • Calling

  • Holding a kiosk during summer cultural celebrations organized by the organization "Village Molokai" in collaboration with the City of Gatineau

  • Signing of petitions in support of the organization's mission

During COVID-19, TIV raised awareness and encouraged its members to respond in large numbers to the “I CONTRIBUTE!” Campaign.

TIV also connected the Quebec government the with our organization's own medical members, who have graduated abroad, in order to fight COVID-19 in CHSLDs and Quebec hospitals.

TIV finally appealed to the Quebec and Canadian communities through CanadaDon / CanadaHelp to raise the necessary funds for the campaign to integrate health professionals with foreign qualifications in the fight against COVID -19 in Quebec.

TIV has launched its own campaign to better utilize the skills of foreign health workers , in the fight against COVID-19 in CHSLDs and hospitals in Quebec - 82 health professionals (doctors and nurses) responded positively to the awareness!
